Abstract

Respiratory heat and water losses during artificial ventilation via endotracheal tubes have been determined in 50 infants and children by means of a thermoelectric psychrometer. With constant ventilatory volumes specific respiratory water losses were in the range of 0.0286 g/1 and specific heat loss in the range of 19.63 cal/1 minute volume.
