Zusammenfassung
Das vestibuläre System ist ein Trägheits-Navigationssystem, das die Aufgabe hat, die Körperstellung und die Augenstellung gegen Störeinflüsse zu stabilisieren, ähnlich wie man für ein Geschütz auf einem Schiff eine stabilisierte Plattform schafft. Genauer hat das vestibuläre System drei Funktionen: erstens die Regelung der Körperstellung, zweitens die Blickstabilisierung und drittens die Lieferung eines Beitrages zur bewußten Raumorientierung.
