Abstract
The primary value of the SEG examination in the presence of epilepsy should be to determine whether the condition is secondary to cerebral damage or is of nonorganic origin. The most frequent causes of childhood epilepsy are trauma, infection, congenital and metabolic defects, and cerebral hypoxia.
