Abstract
The vapor pressure and the liquid-liquid phase separation of metal-ammonia solutions are related using thermodynamic data. An effective solvation number of 6 is found for potassium in ammonia solutions. Metal-ammonia solutions are assumed to be a mixture of this compound and free ammonia.
