Influence of Atomic Concentrations on Ion Emission Yields of Alloys Flooded with Oxygen

Abstract

It has previously been shown that, for binary FeNi, FeCr and MiCr single phase alloys sputtered by argon ions and flooded with oxygen, the ionization probability p NM M of M atoms varies linearly with CM or CN [1]. Evidences for this law were given by the values determined for the following ionization coefficient:
$${{P_{NM}^M} \over {P_M^M}} = {{^{I\left( {{M^ + }} \right)}NM} \over {^{I\left( {{M^ + }} \right)}M}} \cdot {{^SM} \over {^SNM}} \cdot {1 \over {^{\left( {^CM} \right)}NM}}$$
