Acute Left Sided Heart Failure

  • Wulf-Dirk Bussmann

Abstract

In acute heart failure, vigorous therapeutic measures generally have to be initiated promptly. In many cases there are emergency interventions and therapeutic guidelines have to be established for various clinical conditions such as acute pulmonary edema, left-sided heart failure after acute myocardial infarction, acute right-sided heart failure or cardiogenic shock. Appropriateness and ease of administration of drugs have the same priority as the establishment of a therapeutic regimen and sequence of actions to be taken.
