Abstract

I shall mention some of the international problems regarding the rational use of drugs by reference to the Nairobi Conference and its follow-up. The international society, as seen by WHO, has suffered a long-standing crisis of confidence related to drug policy. The 1985 Nairobi Conference on the Rational Use of Drugs hopefully solved that problem for the time being. There is now a relatively reasonable consensus of opinion among governments, industry, consumer groups, prescriber groups, and also developing countries.
