Abstract

It is a special privilege for me to address this eminent gathering of people who have at least one thing in common: the desire to foster health and when necessary restore it by the rational use of the most appropriate means. People representing various fields have come together here for a dialogue aimed at the improvement of drug safety. As a representative of the RAD-AR consortium, I have the great honour of welcoming you all to this decisive and promising conference and of exhorting you to assume joint responsibility with the pharmaceutical industry to achieve this objective.
