Protein-Quinone Interactions in Photosynthetic Bacterial Reaction Centers Investigated by Light-Induced FTIR Difference Spectroscopy

  • Conference paper
Book cover The Reaction Center of Photosynthetic Bacteria

Abstract

FTIR spectroscopy has been used to assess the bonding interactions of the quinone carbonyls of QA (asymmetrical binding) and QB (more symmetrical). These interactions are compared to those proposed in the X-ray structures.
