First Experience in the Field of Bone Marrow Transplantation at the St.-Peterburg BMT Center
A significant proportion of patients, who did develop acute leukemia (AL), chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML), non-Hodgkin’s (NHL), Hodgkin’s disease (HD), multiple myeloma (MM), severe aplastic anemia (SAA), myelodysplastic syndrom (MDS) and other malignancies may be cured with allogeneic (alio), autologous (auto) bone marrow and/or peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT). This article deals with first results of BMT and PBSCT performed at Petrov Research Institute of Oncology.
