Abstract
This chapter is devoted to a detailed study of the Hopf algebra U q (sl2). It can be considered as a one-parameter deformation of the universal enveloping algebra U(sl2) (see Example 1.6) and is the simplest example of the quantized universal enveloping algebras U q (g) which will be investigated in Chap. 6. Following common terminology in physics, we call U q (sl2) a quantum algebra.
