Zusammenfassung

Während der zurückliegenden fünf Jahrzehnte erfuhr die Behandlung der Wirbelsäulenverletzungen eine faszinierende und stürmische Entwicklung. Anfänglich war sie geprägt durch ausschließlich konservative Therapiekonzepte [6], wobei die funktionelle Behandlung nach Magnus [14] der Böhlerschen Frakturaufrichtung im ventralen Durchhang [2] mit anschließender Fixation im Gipskorsett gegenüberstand. Heute streben wir danach, primär die jeweilige Verletzungspathologie am geschädigten Wirbelsäulenabschnitt exakt zu erfassen, um danach differenziert durch Anwendung geeigneter Repositions- und Fixationstechniken zu reagieren.
