Abstract
Since 1993, the French National Electricity Utility ELECTRICITE DE FRANCE (EDF) and the French Environment and Energy management Agency (ADEME) have worked together for the promotion of the efficient use of electricity. For the industrial sector, this approach correlates to an energy consulting service, focused on the use of electronic Adjustable Speed Drives for motors, which constitute the main source of energy savings, especially on pumps and fans (figs 1-2).
