Abstract
The potential complexity of acid-base disorders sometimes makes it necessary to measure parameters other than merely pH and blood gases in order to make a diagnosis; the aim of this study was to evaluate the role of a range of biochemical and haematological tests in the evaluation of patients with respiratory or metabolic acidosis.
