Zusammenfassung

Die bildgebende Diagnostik des Nierenzellkarzinoms beginnt oft mit seiner zufälligen Entdeckung, sei es, daß bei der Abklärung anderer Erkrankungen der Tumor entdeckt wird, sei es, daß bei der Abklärung einer unspezifischen Symptomatik ein renaler Tumor als Ursache gefunden wird. Die früher als typisch beschriebene klinische Präsentation mit Hämaturie, Flankenschmerz und palpablem Tumor ist heute selten geworden und wird nur bei 5% der Patienten mit einem Nierenzellkarzinom beobachtet (Riehes et al. 1951).
