Inclusive and Semi-inclusive Results from Hermes

Abstract

The study of the spin structure of the nucleon is the principle object of the HERMES experiment. In 1995 the neutron structure function g 1 n (x) was measured using a longitudinally polarized 3He target. In addition, semi-inclusive pion asymmetries on 3He are presented. In 1996 a longitudinally polarized Hydrogen target was employed, and first preliminary results of the inclusive proton asymmetry and hadron as well as pion asymmetries are presented.
