Zusammenfassung

Bei Komplikationen während einer Schwangerschaft sind Mutter und Kind gefährdet. Die Gestose und das HELLP-Syndrom sind auch nach neueren epidemiologischen Untersuchungen die häufigsten Todesursachen von Schwangeren. Die vielgestaltige Symptomatik der Erkrankung und die teilweise dramatische Progredienz erfordern eine hohe Fachkompetenz aller an der Behandlung beteiligten Ärzte. Die Kenntnisse der pathophysiologischen Veränderungen sowie deren Zusammenhänge sind die beste Voraussetzung für eine optimale Versorgung von Patientinnen mit Gestose. Dies gilt für die Anästhesiologie und für die Intensivmedizin.
