Zusammenfassung

Wenn Erkenntnisse über die Häufigkeit psychischer Störungen, ihre Ursachen und unterhaltende Umstände als Basis für die Behandlung und Prävention benutzt werden sollen, sind Prävalenz- und Inzidenzzahlen von Bedeutung. Bei der Bestimmung dieser Parameter sind die Informationsquellen relevant. Eltern, die über psychische Störungen informieren, definieren gleichzeitig die Behandlungsbedürftigkeit ihrer minderjährigen Kinder. Bei Verursachung, Auslösung, Verlauf und Behandlung solcher Störungen kommt es auf die Lebensumstande der Minderjährigen an, die aufgrund der Unreife ihres Zentralnervensystems-also auch des psychischen Apparates-und der sich daraus ergebenden höheren Abhängigkeit von Bezugspersonen oft ohne Mitwirken des Umfeldes nicht vorstellbar sind.
