Kurzfassung

Die Set-Top-Box (STB) ist das neue Endgerät für den digitalen Fernsehempfang nach DVB. In der STB laufen Prozesse wie die Decodierung des Video-signals (MPEG-2 Codierte Signale), das Filtering der Systeminformationen (DVB-SI) und der Private Datas in Realzeit ab. Die Bildfolge beträgt 40 msec, in dieser Zeit müssen alle Prozesse beendet sein. Die verschiedenen Modell für die Datenhaltung, der Lifecycle und das Benutzerinterface werden beschrieben.
