Zusammenfassung
Das junge Fach Intensivmedizin kommt in die Jahre. Es ist Zeit für Erinnerungen; wir besinnen uns auf unsere Geschichte. Diese Fortsetzungsreihe über die Geschichte der Intensivmedizin in Deutschland war für alle, die diese Entwicklung selbst ganz oder teilweise miterleben durften, eine bedeutsame Reminiszenz. Für die Jüngeren ist sie vielleicht noch wichtiger, da so die gewundenen Wege deutlich werden, die die Entwicklung in der Medizin oft genommen hat — und auch in Zukunft nehmen wird.
