Zusammenfassung

Die Sonographie ist das am häufigsten angewandte Verfahren in der bildgebenden Leberdiagnostik. Dies begründet sich in einer Reihe von Vorteilen gegenüber den anderen Schnittbildverfahren wie nahezu uneingeschränkte Verfügbarkeit, niedrige Kosten, fehlende Strahlenexposition und gute Patientenakzeptanz. Andererseits ist die Sonographie in der Diagnostik fokaler Leberläsionen der Computertomographie (CT) und Magnetresonanztomographie (MRT) unterlegen. Ihre Sensitivität in der Detektion fokaler Läsionen ist mit Werten zwischen 53 und 77% deutlich eingeschränkt, sodass sie als alleiniges Verfahren zur Detektion von Metastasen nicht geeignet ist (Clarke et al. 1989; Wernecke et al. 1991; Ohlsson et al. 1993; Helmberger et al.1999; Albrecht et al. 2001 a).
