Multiphase Reactors for Biological Treatment of Urban Wastewaters

  • Chapter
Environmental Technologies and Trends

Part of the book series: Environmental Engineering ((ENVENG))

Abstract

Different multiphase reactors, which can be applied to the aerobic biological treatment of urban wastewaters, are described. Solids used are new particles, patented INSA, of large diameter and low density. The hydrodynamics, mass transfer performances and, for some, the capacity of pollution removal, are presented. The adequation type of solids/type of multiphase reactor and type of reactor/type of pollution is discussed.
