Part of the book series: Kinderanästhesie ((KINDERANAESTHES))

Most of the agents employed in adult anesthesia may be used for infants and children, and there are proponents of spinal, epidural, intravenous, intramuscular and rectal routes of administration. From the standpoint of safety and practicability however, the field can be narrowed down considerably. The inhalation technique is the most widely used method in pediatric anesthesia. This method is simple, versatile, effective and easily and easily controlled.
