Endoscopic Pituitary Surgery: Present and Future

  • Conference paper
Minimally Invasive Techniques for Neurosurgery

Summary

An approach to endoscopic pituitary surgery is outlined, with comments on otolaryngology (ENT) and neurosurgical operative technique. Problems encountered during this type of surgery are illustrated, and future developments of this technique are discussed. During transsphenoidal pituitary surgery, the use of endoscopes provides additional safety and operative ability.
