Zusammenfassung
Enzephalopathien stellen diffuse Hirnfunktionsstörungen dar, die bei Erwachsenen meist im Zusammenhang mit extrazerebralen Erkrankungen auftreten. Die Sonderformen der metabolischen Enzephalopathien entwickeln sich im Verlauf diverser endokriner und Stoffwechselstörungen, z. B. bei Leber- und Niereninsuffizienz, bei Störungen des Glukose- und Elektrolytstoffwechsels sowie bei Schilddrüsenerkrankungen.
