Zusammenfassung

Die Halbwertszeit medizinischen Wissens verkürzt sich immer mehr. Der Druck auf den Einzelnen wächst, immer auf dem neuesten Stand der wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse zu sein. Dies hat zur Folge, daß neue Methoden der gezielten und effektiven Informationsgewinnung ihren Einzug in die Medizin nehmen [11, 16, 17, 30]. Jeder Arzt ist verpflichtet, sich weiterzubilden. Lehrbücher oder Handbücher bieten zwar Grundlagenwissen, neuere Erkenntnisse können jedoch nicht berücksichtigt werden [5]. Viele Ärzte „halten“ sich deshalb eine Fachzeitschrift oder nutzen die jeweils erreichbare Fachbibliothek. Aufgrund des zunehmenden Wissensanspruchs bzw. der Entwicklung der Medizin ist das jedoch nicht mehr ausreichend [2, 31, 36].
