Abstract
Trees are exposed to many load cases. The wind, for example, varies in direction, and each direction is related to an individually adapted cross-section. Bending moments due to wind can be accompanied by other external loads such as torsion, or axial compression due to weight. The relevant load parameters are introduced in the following to the reader who is unfamiliar with them.
