Pu-239 and U-238 Resonance Cross-Section Reevaluation: Influence on HCLWR Cell Characteristics

Abstract

Reevaluations of resonance cross-sections for 239Pu in the energy region 10-5 eV - 25keV and 238U for 4-50keV were perfomed. The verification of these reevaluations on the HCLWR test cell model with Pu fuel is presented. The K∞, average cross-sections and spectral indexes for ENDF/B-IV data are compared with our corresponding results. Substitution of our reevaluations results in a K∞ change of 0.0067.
