Summary
Today business-executives have to be able to meet special requirements: They are expected to have a solid education in their special field of business, to react in a flexible way to new problem-constellations, to have strategic thinking, to be sociable with employees and customers, and to further continue their education.
A continuation of education is a must especially for younger business-executives, who have finished their training and after a few years of professional experience have a sound hope for further advancement.
For the continuation of their education business schools are recommended, as they offer strong links to business practice by the use of case studies. The constant growing number of business schools in Europe requires a kind of parent organisation to carry out control. The DIHT recommends voluntary self- control.
