In this chapter we first study in § 1 and § 2 the analytic continuation of the function P + λ for polynomials P(x) of the second (and first) degree. Then using this analytic continuation we contruct in § 3–§5 fundamental solutions for second-order equations with non-degenerate quadratic form having arbitrary signature and arbitrary number of independent variables.
