Die Kernspintomographie (griechisch „τομη“ = „Schnitt“, „γραϕω“ = „schreiben“ ist eine Schichtbilduntersuchung, d. h. sie fertigt Schnittbilder des Körpers an. Die Untersuchung erfolgt in einem Magnetfeld ohne Röntgenstrahlung.
