Zusammenfassung

Verletzungen des hyalinen Gekenkknorpels sind relativ häufige Ereignisse. Bei Unfällen, die mit einem Hämarthos einhergehen, ist in 16% mit Knorpelläsionen zu rechnen. Knorpelverletzungen mit einem Durchmesser von mehr als 2-4 mm haben keine Möglichkeit der Selbstheilung und können zu frühzeitiger Arthrose führen (Calandruccio/Gilmer 1962, Convery et al. 1972, 1991; Mitchell/Shepard 1976; Salter et al. 1980). Auch die jugendliche Osteochondrosis dissecans führt im Alter von 34 Jahren in 32% der Fälle zu radiologischen Arthrosezeichen; nur die Hälfte der Patienten haben eine gute oder sehr gute Gelenkfunktion (Bently(Greer 1971).
