Zusammenfassung
Neurokognitive Dysfunktionen gelten seit Kraepelin und Bleuler als mögliche Moderatoren und Kausalfaktoren der schizophrenen Erkrankung. Ein empirischer Nachweis dieser Annahme steht jedoch aus: Bislang sind alle Bemühungen erfolglos geblieben, stabile Vulnerabilitätsindikatoren der Schizophrenie zu identifizieren, die schizophrene Probanden von Gesunden und Kontrollen mit anderen psychiatrischen Störungen eindeutig diskriminieren (vergleiche z.B. [8]). Neben Fragen der Pathogenese widmet sich die neuropsychologisch-psy-chiatrische Forschung zunehmend auch der prädiktiven Bedeutung neuropsy-chologischer Defizite auf den Behandlungserfolg (Outcome) sowie die Medika-mentencompliance. In einer 1996 veröffentlichten Meta-Analyse konnte Green (1996) z. B. nachweisen, dass insbesondere Störungen des Gedächtnisses und der Vigilanz verschiedene Kennwerte des funktionellen Outcome (wie z.B. Selbstständigkeit) signifikant vorhersagen.
