Zusammenfassung

Die aktuelle biologisch-psychiatrische Schizophrenieforschung kann sich auf eine zunehmende Anzahl biologischer Einzelbefunde stützen. Zukünftige Erkenntnisse über Ätiologie, Pathogenese und Pathomechanismen schizophrener Störungen werden vor allem aus Molekularbiologie und Genetik erwartet (Abb. 1). Bildgebende Verfahren sind geeignet, um strukturelle, funktionelle und neu-rochemische Störungen bei Patienten darzustellen. Neuropsychologische Tests werden zunehmend eingesetzt, um perzeptive und exekutive kognitive Defizite zu quantifizieren.
