Die strukturelle Integrität des hyalinen Gelenkknorpels ist die Voraussetzung zur Wahrnehmung seiner hochspezialisierten Funktionen. Gleichzeitig stellen die morphologischen Besonderheiten aber auch eine Ursache der schlechten Heilung des Gewebes dar.
