Zusammenfassung

Roboter werden industriell dort eingesetzt, wo Arbeitsabläufe für den Menschen zu gefährlich, zu beschwerlich, zu wenig ökonomisch oder nicht präzise genug sind. Roboter sind programmierte Maschinen mit Merkfähigkeit, aber bisher noch nicht mit Denkfähigkeit. Sie können beliebig oft wiederholbar definierte Aufgaben ausführen. Die Aufgabenstellung kann stereotyp die gleiche sein (Serienproduktion) oder individuell programmiert werden. Die Kardinalfrage bei Robotern ist: Wer oder was kontrolliert die Maschine — Mensch oder Computer?
