Cleaning of Ceramics Using Lasers of Different Wavelength

Abstract

Until now, cleaning of ceramic objects is done by solvents or sandblasting. At the present study, a laser based technique is presented. Three different wavelengths have been tested in order to clean ceramic objects. Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS), x-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), EDX and SEM were used for the validation of the cleaning results.
