Erkennung und vorläufige Einschätzung okulärer Verletzungen sind oft Sache des Notaufnahmearztes. Er muß eine auch ophthalmologische Belange berührende detaillierte Unfallanamnese erheben, eine zumindest orientierende Untersuchung der Augen durchführen und ggf. spezielle Untersuchungen veranlassen: Eine angesichts der weit fortgeschrittenen Spezialisierung der Ophthalmologie schwierige Aufgabe.
