Abstract

Until recently, DNA has generally been viewed as having limited immunogenic potential. Although antibody production could be induced by certain DNA structures, including denatured DNA, Z-DNA, A-DNA, and triple helical DNA [1], it was difficult to induce antibody by immunization with native right-handed helical DNA. Therefore, DNA was generally considered to be poorly immunostimulatory.
