Abstract
Germany has an advanced economy, producing a gross domestic product (GDP) of 2,136 billion US $ for a population of 82 million. Within the top advertising countries Germany ranks behind the USA and Japan in place 3, with a total advertising expenditure of 35.0 billion US $,1 which is equal to a share of 1.6% of the German GDP. The advertising expenditure per capita is 425 US $. The pure coverage cost amounts to 24.3 billion US $. Accordingly, Germany takes the lead in the continent of Europe, being far in advance of Great Britain, France, Italy and Spain.
