Zusammenfassung
Der menschliche Körper verliert ständig Wasser über Urin (U), Stuhl, Haut und Lunge. Ohne regelmäßige Wasserzufuhr würde die Salzkonzentration in Blut und Gewebe schnell ansteigen. Um die Osmolalität im Plasma (P) optimal zu regulieren und so die Körperfunktionen aufrecht zu erhalten, hat sich ein System entwickelt, welches die Wasseraufnahme sowie die Wasserausscheidung über die Niere entsprechend dem Bedarf steuert (Abb. 8-1). Im Gehirn lokalisierte osmosensitive Zellen messen die Tonizität bzw. den effektiven osmotischen Druck des Plasmas.
