Zusammenfassung

Die großen Schamlippen, Labia majora, wölben sich beiderseits unter dem Beckenboden zwischen den Oberschenkeln vor. Sie werden von subkutanem Fettgewebe gebildet und gehen ventral in den aus Fettgewebe bestehenden, der Symphyse vorgelagerten Schamberg, Mons pubis, über. Ventral sind sie durch die Commissura labiorum anterior und dorsal durch die Commissura labiorum posterior verbunden. Eine kleine Hautfalte, das Frenulum labiorum pudendi, überspannt die Fossa vestibuli vaginae vor der hinteren Kommissur. Die äußere Oberfläche der Labia majora ist pigmentiert und wird von Schamhaar bedeckt. Die innere Oberfläche ist unbehaart.
