Abstract
Correct preparation of the tumescent solution for a facelift is essential for the safety and comfort of the patient. The appropriate mixture for this procedure contains 0.1% lidocaine (100 ml 1% lidocaine per 1000 ml physiological saline), epinephrine 1:250,000 (4 ml 1:1000 epinephrine per 1000 ml physiological saline), and 20 ml sodium bicarbonate. In addition, some surgeons like to add triamcinolone 10 mg per 1000 ml physiological saline in order to reduce the postoperative tendency to swelling.
