Abstract
As China’s economy grows and the standard of living continues to increase, China’s energy consumption is growing rapidly. Lighting electricity consumption has reached 125 TWh in 1998 and will continue to grow rapidly in the near future. However, lighting efficiency levels remain low in China, thus lighting energy conservation has significant potential. To this end, China launched its Green Lights Program in 1996, which aims at saving energy as well as raising lighting quality through the promotion of high quality efficient lighting products.
