Zusammenfassung
Wesentliche Effekte des Alkoholgenusses werden über zentralnervöse Mechanismen vermittelt; neuronale Strukturen reagieren beim Gesunden und Kranken empfindlich auf die pharmakologischen Effekte des Alkohols. übermäßiger Alkoholgenuss, chronischer Alkoholismus oder Alkoholexzess führen zu charakteristischen neurologischen Krankheitsbildern (Tabelle 26-1). Mehrere pathophysiologische Wirkungs mechanismen schädigen unterschiedliche Anteile des zentralen und peripheren Nervensystems und der Muskulatur, sodass ein breites Spektrum an neurologischen Funktionsstörungen resultiert. Die wichtigsten alkoholassoziierten neurologischen Erkrankungen werden in diesem Kapitel zusammengefasst.
