Zusammenfassung
Infektionen der Haut werden zu ca. 70% durch Staphylokokken und Streptokokken hervorgerufen. Erst deutlich seltener kommen für Hautinfektionen andere aerob und anaerob wachsende Keime in Frage, z.B. Enterokokken, E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiellen, Proteus und andere. Korynebakterien, die normalerweise an der Hautoberfläche vorkommen, können unter besonderen Milieubedingungen, die ihr Wachstum begünstigen, z. B. vermehrte Feuchtigkeit, das Stratum corneum oder die Haarkutikula kolonisieren. Auch Soorpilze sind nicht selten Erreger von Hautinfektionen (C. albicans, C. tropicalis, C. parapsilosis), deren Häufigkeit in letzter Zeit zugenommen hat und die bei immunsupprimierten Kranken (iatrogen, HIV-Infektion) durch mukokutane und systemische Ausbreitung ein therapeutisches Problem darstellen können.
