Wie lässt sich die Herausbildung bestimmter Marktstrukturen erklären? Wann ergibt sich eine Marktstruktur wie bei vollkommener Konkurrenz? Wann ergibt sich eine oligopolistische Marktstruktur? Welche Rolle spielt dabei die Kostenstruktur der Firmen in einem bestimmten Markt? Wie können Marktteilnehmer durch ihr Verhalten die Herausbildung der Marktstruktur beeinflussen? Stellt sich normalerweise automatisch eine effiziente Marktstruktur ein? Konkreter gefragt: Welche Effekte auf das Marktergebnis haben Marktzutrittsschranken? Welche strategischen Verhaltensweisen sollten Marktteilnehmer einschlagen, wenn sie das zukünftige Verhalten ihrer Konkurrenten in ihrem Sinne beeinflussen wollen?
