Abstract

The authors have provided a concise review of the current management of burn wound infections with special emphasis on the interaction between microorganisms and the patient. They have properly highlighted the central importance of prompt excision and closure of the burn wound to limit the duration of risk for development of invasive infections. A few points deserve expansion and emphasis.
