Neutrino Mass from Tritium β Decay

Abstract

Upper limits of 2.5 and 2.8 eV respectively, for the electron antineutrino mass from tritium beta decay measurements at Troitsk and Mainz have been published in 1999 and improved meanwhile to 2.2 eV. Slight anomalies of the spectrum, observed first in Troitsk could be suppressed at Mainz. Experimental progress at both facilities is reported on.
