The Anatomy of the Veins Draining the Myocardium of Both Ventricles

  • Michael von Lüdinghausen
Part of the Advances in Anatomy Embryology and Cell Biology book series (ADVSANAT, volume 168)

An extensive intercommunicating network of subepicardially distributed veins provides venous drainage for the coronary circulation (Parsonnet 1953; Waller and Schlant 1994). The ventricular cardiac veins are situated in the epicardium and are therefore easily dissectible throughout most of their course (Figs. 13, 27).
